Abstract

This article aims to explore, in the fi rst place, a peculiar kind of poetic translation in the framework of a collective work achieved by a seminar of students and teachers in the University of Granada: TRAD-COL. It explores different aspects of collective translation in general terms and especially within TRAD-COL, tracing its origins, describing its methods, analyzing its texts and contexts. In the second place, it describes a specific experience that took place in Moscow State University (MSU) which enabled a group of students and teachers supervised by the coordinator of TRAD-COL, to discover some aspects of collective work through the translation of two short poems, one by Antonio Carvajal and the other by Sergey Goncharenko. The article centers on the description of the conditions and peculiarities of the experience and gives a balance of it, leaving the analysis of the translation to be done by two members of the collective group (see Sudar and Dmitriyévskaya: “Una experiencia de traducción poética colectiva”)
