The journal Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebraicos. Sección Árabe-Islam (MEAH-AI) is the oldest of the journals on Arabic and Islamic Studies (among those currently published) and is probably the oldest journal published by the University of Granada. An interdisciplinary journal, it welcomes scholarship on all subjects pertaining to Arabic and Islamic Studies, from the Middle Ages to the present.
Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebraicos. Sección Árabe-Islam (MEAH-AI) is published annually. It accepts articles about very diverse topics in the field of Arabic and Islamic Studies in the broadest sense, whether the classical period (al-Andalus and the Orient) or the Modern and Contemporary periods.

Jounal Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebraicos. Sección Árabe-Islam (MEAH-AI) has its roots in the preceding Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebraicos. Fascículo 1º, published from 1958 (vol. VII) to 1993-1994 (vols. XLII-XLIII), dedicated to Arabic studies, while Fascicle 2 was oriented to Hebrew studies. At the same time both journals are heirs to the first version, Miscelánea de Estudios Árabes y Hebraicos, which emerged in 1952 (vol. I) as Annex to the Boletín de la Universidad de Granada, and remained in this way until the year 1957 (vol. VI), characterized by combining both areas of knowledge in an unique volume.
