The literary works of Josué Montijo (Puerto Rico, 1975) –El killer (2007) and “Tú no jodes más” (2013)– adapt to the Puerto Rican context the modern trope of the monster –namely, the serial killer, the torturer and the zombie. In this article, I study the ways in which Montijo legitimizes his work as part of the gothic and splatterpunk literary traditions.Downloads
