Guillermo Cabrera Infante’s text ¡Vaya papaya! (1992) is a variation about Cuban painter and engraver Ramón Alejandro’s work (born in Havana in 1943 and living in Paris since 1963). He don’t only uses ekphrasis but diachronic symbology of the Cuban fruit and intertextuality for emphasize eroticism and sadism as allegory of subversive and affected cubanity.Downloads
