Abstract

The aim of this paper is to trace the presence of apocalyptic imagery as it relates to globalization in two science fiction novels published in Chile during the last decade. For this purpose, I will highlight the manner in which globalization is represented in both novels, thus allowing me to identify its effect on national identity as well as on the viability of (social) emancipation and (individual) agency.
