This article aims to discuss the analyzes surrounding corruption that focus solely on its condemnation and moral denunciation. In this context, current thinkers find ordinary treatments of the issue ineffective and insufficient and advocate going further and trying to understand the internal mechanisms of corrupt dynamics in order to recreate the citizen ethos. Starting from this perspective, this text analyzes the novel La última fiesta by the Argentine writer Ángeles Salvador from the proposal of the moral philosophy of Gaspard Kœnig and the historiography of Frédéric Monier, for whom anti-corruption struggles must take into account an irrefutable truth: life and corruption are inseparable terms.
