El huracán y el silencio (Mercurio editorial, 2023), a volume that takes its title from a phrase from the novel La luz negra (2018), by the Argentine writer María Gainza, includes nine reviews of novels and one essay written by leading authors throughout over the last few years, appearing previously in Infolibre. Beyond the militant feminist demand that involves bringing together in a book the work of these women, who are marking the history of contemporary literature in its different genres, Selena Millares's gaze allows us to trace the ways in which these works construct an idea of avant-garde and appeal to different forms of “silence” in the midst of the noisy “hurricane” of a predatory late capitalism in which we live.
