Peer Review Process

Revista Letral is a double-blind peer review journal.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by one or more members of the Editorial Board to determine their relevance to the journal's fields of knowledge and its requirements.

Manuscripts deemed appropriate are sent out, without the author's name, for blind review to two reviewers specialized in the subject matter of the manuscript. Based on these evaluations, manuscripts are either accepted for publication, rejected, or designated for correction by the author. If both evaluations conflict significantly, a third reviewer is requested before making a publication decision.

Authors will receive a detailed, reasoned notice of their review, with specific instructions for modification, if required. Occasionally Revista Letral may send the original reports received, always anonymously.

Evaluations will take into account the scientific quality of the proposal, its affiliation to the field of transatlantic studies and its contribution to the subject. Referees issue their reports in accordance with a protocol, which includes: originality and interest of the analysis; structural and argumentative coherence; knowledge of the current state of the subject under research; methodology; adequacy of abstract and keywords; formal correctness and clarity of the message.

If accepted, the journal will include in the published article the date of submission of the manuscript. The date of final acceptance by the journal includes the time dedicated by authors to the final revision of their work.

Revista Letral does not take back into consideration rejected originals.

The proposals must be submitted online through this platform. To do so, you must register.
