Abstract

When filming his Medea, Pasolini always had in mind the aim of making his own personal version and not an archaeological reconstrution. lfhe took liberties when writing the film 's script, he al so did the same when he physically reconstructed the places. Corinth symbolizes the civilized and laic world, the origin ofthe westem culture. For the filming he used sorne exotic locations as regards both time and space, absolutely dissimilar to the ideal image of Ancient Greece.
