Eὐɣέʋɛɿα: un código de honor

Abstract

This paper is about the different meanings of Eὐɣέʋɛɿα troughout the Homeric poems and the Sophoclean tragedy, Ajax. Like an epic code it means to be of noble birth and, consequently, to act bravely, like an hero. However, Tecmssa considers that Eὐɣέʋɛɿα has nothing to do with aristocratic values; to her it means to act piously like a real human being.
