Abstract

In a votiv inscription by an imperial procurator at Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa, in the Roman province of Dacia Apulensis, it is showed the only testimony of a Hispanic divinity known until the date in the trans-Danubian territories of the Roman Empire: Mars Singilis. This paper intends to be an individual publishing of that inscription, which for the first time is complemented with a picture of the monument, with a specific comentary about the epitet beside Mars and about the possible reasons of this association, in an epigraphic text which makes an example of the religious diffusion related to geographical movility of the Roman adrninistration.
