Educación y entrenamiento en el ludus
Keywords:
Munera gladiatoria, education, training, ludusAbstract
It is evident that physical training was the most frequent activity at gladiator schools. Nevertheless, it must be taken into account that these activities were closely related to the Roman educational system, which was in turn inherited to a certain extent from the Greeks. In this paper, we deal with two aspects of Roman education, namely, the educative value given to the munus by Classical writers and the training received by gladiators in the ludus, including all aspects pertaining to it (gladiators’ admission into the ludus, nickname adoption, physical and technical training, diet, among several others).Downloads
