Abstract
Spanish universities are at present immersed in a process of deep structural and functional reforms. Inside this process of change numerous agents and key elements are involved but university students and teachers are undoubtedly two important factors. In the present work we reveal how universities need to direct their efforts not only towards academic, personal and professional counseling of the students, but also towards mentorship and guidance for beginning university teachers.
