Abstract

If the war of Granada with its different stages and peace agreements stands as the main starting point for the future developement of the ancient nasri kingdom during the first half of the XVIth century; we should also consider the fact that its strategical needs were associated with its definition as a border land between the iberian peninsula and the north of Africa during the second half of the XVIth century. Defense priorities against a hypothetical threat coming from the Alboran sea are going to mark the resettlement and living conditions inside the kingdom and also the basis for a new social and economic developement which will make the new inhabitants of the Granada area, basically a race of men and women closely linked to the borders of their kingdom.
