Abstract
The fluorescence quenching of carbazole by tropanic alkaloids in acetonitrile has been studied in the steady-state, in order to determine the bimolecular quenching rate constants. These constants are 1.2x109 l and 5.8x108 M-1 s-1 for the carbazoletropine and carbazole-atropine systems respectively. Besides the appearance of a new fluorescen emission at higher wavelenghts can be observed.
