Abstract
La visita de la botica del Hospital de S. Juan de Dios de Granada en 1607, objeto de nuestro estudio, entraña el particular interés de haberse efectuado en fecha no muy lejana de la fundación del mencionado Hospital, 1552. Las formalidades realizadas se atuvieron en todo momento a lo expuesto en sus Constituciones y respecto a las medicinas inspeccionadas se demostró que eran abundantes y en buen estado. Prueba de ello es que en la carta que D. Pedro de Castro, arzobispo de Granada, le dirige al Rey, no denuncia deficiencias en cuanto a estas, aunque sí en cuanto a las instalaciones del Hospital debido sin duda a la gran función asistencial que ejercía en esos momentos el Hospital de S. Juan de Dios.
