Código de ética

To this end, it takes as a model the criteria provided by the Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (Comittee on Publication Ethics, 2014).

Duties of editors

1. Publishing Decisions.

The editors will be responsible for the decision to publish the manuscripts that the journal receives. Manuscripts must be evaluated with impartiality, impartiality and without taking into account the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality or political ideas of the authors. The decision to publish a manuscript will be based on the importance of the article itself, its originality and clarity, as well as the validity of the study and its relevance to the purposes of the journal. Naturally, it will be taken into account that the work conforms to the legal requirements in relation to the good name of individuals and institutions, in relation to copyright and those related to plagiarism.

2. Confidentiality.

Neither the editors nor other members of the journal team, nor persons who collaborate in the journal's activities, should disclose any information about the manuscripts received to anyone other than the author or reviewers, and always in the proportion due to the compliance with the purposes of the proposed activity and with due prudence.

3. Conflict of interest.

Unpublished materials appearing in received manuscripts must not be used by the editors for their own research without first obtaining the author's written permission.

Duties of the evaluators

1. Cooperation with Editorial Decisions.

The objective of the expert evaluation of the received manuscripts is to help editors in the selection of manuscripts for publication, thus contributing to the adoption of the decision to publish the articles that will form part of the magazine, in addition to collaborating in improving their quality.

2. Diligence.

Any expert selected to evaluate a manuscript who does not believe himself competent to judge it, or who cannot carry out the evaluation diligently, must notify the editors and waive the evaluation.

3. Confidentiality.

Manuscripts received for evaluation should be treated as confidential documents. They should not be used or discussed publicly, unless authorized by the publishers.

4. Objectivity criteria.

The evaluators will carry out their task objectively. Personal criticism is excluded. It is the obligation of the evaluators to express their judgments clearly and in a well-founded manner.

5. Determination of sources.

It is the obligation of the reviewers to determine the existence of published papers to which the manuscript refers and which have not been cited in the corresponding section of bibliographic references. They must also indicate those observations or arguments that appear in the manuscript and that are not accompanied by their respective bibliographic source.

Reviewers should notify editors of any significant similarities or overlaps between the manuscript and any other publication of which they are aware.

6. Conflict of interest.

The information or ideas obtained through the privilege of evaluating manuscripts must be kept confidential and, therefore, cannot be used for personal gain. Evaluators must refrain from judging manuscripts with which they have a conflict of interest derived from competitive, collaborative or other relationships, or derived from links with authors, institutions or companies related to the manuscripts.

Duties of the authors

1. Compliance with quality requirements.

The authors must be original research authors and must present a clear and precise exposition of the work carried out, as well as an objective discussion of its importance. The data that support the work must be clearly reflected in the manuscript. The manuscript must have well-detailed references in such a way that it sufficiently allows other authors to reproduce the research and verify the results. Any false or intentionally inaccurate statement will be judged as an ethical breach and will be grounds for exclusion.

2. Access to research data.

Authors must be able to provide their research data with the manuscript for editorial review. If necessary, they must also make said data public. In any case, it is understood that it is the obligation of the researchers to make said data available to the scientific community, provided that the confidentiality of the participants is guaranteed and that there is no impairment of any institutional rights that may exist.

3. Originality, plagiarism and sources.

Manuscripts must be original works, which will be referenced through the relevant citations to the work of other authors. Likewise, the works of authors who have been decisive in defining the nature and objectives of the work must be cited and referred to.

4. Multiple, superfluous or simultaneous publication.

Generally speaking, papers describing essentially the same research should not be published in more than one journal. Likewise, the same work should not be submitted to several journals. All this will be grounds for exclusion.

Manuscripts that have already been published in other journals should not be submitted. Nor should the same manuscript be sent to another journal, when it is in the evaluation period. All this without prejudice to the fact that the author always and at all times maintains the fullness of his copyright in relation to the published work and, therefore, of reproduction and transmission as he sees fit.

5. The authorship of the article

Authorship should be limited to persons who have contributed in a significant way to the conception, elaboration, or interpretation of the work. All the people who have done so must appear as co-authors.

The main author undertakes to guarantee that only said persons appear as co-authors and no others. Likewise, they undertake to submit the latest version of the article for the approval of the co-authors and to obtain their authorization for publication.

6. Conflict of interest

The authors must declare the sources of funding for their work and must try to avoid any conflict of interest that affects the results or the interpretation of their conclusions.

7. Fundamental errors in published work

In the event that the author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in his published work, he has the duty to diligently notify the editors and to collaborate in the correction or, where appropriate, rectification of what has been published.

8. About retractions and misprints.

The already published article in which misconduct was identified will remain indexed in Quiroga. Revista de PatrimonioIberoamericano in the condition of retraction. The retraction documents the reason for the retraction, duly referenced, by communication from the author or editor or other authorized agent, and published in the same journal. The retraction can be partial when the misconduct applies to a specific part of the article, without compromising the whole of the published research. The article may not be "unpublished".

Cases of errors or failures, regardless of their nature or origin, that do not constitute misconduct, are corrected through errata.

The journal will publish errata, corrections or retractions as quickly as possible.
