A Sevillian Painter from 17th Century Confused with Figueroa “El Viejo”

In the XVITH century, a new saga of artists starts in Colombia, The Figueroas. Their patriarch, Baltasar, also known as “El Viejo”, is the pioneer of this lineage. Despite the absence of news about this artist, experts on the subject state that he comes from Seville (Spain). The researcher Giraldo Jaramillo justified his origin with different sources. After an exhaustive analysis and the discovery of additional files, we can corroborate that Jaramillo’s findings refer to a homonymous painter who never leftthe city.Downloads
