Abstract

This article attempts to analyze the cultural impacts of the Spanish dollars in the south of Fujian, province in the southeast coast of China where these coins used to have the largest circulation thanks to the business relations between Fujian and the Philippines during the 16-19th centuries.

Meng Zhou, Universidad de Granada

Licenciada en el departamento de español de la Universidad Normal de la Capital en Beijing, es máster y doctoranda de historia del arte de la Universidad de Granada. Por conocer ambas idiomas y culturas del chino y español, con la tesis doctoral se dedica a los temas relativas a los intercambios artísticos entre China y España a través del Galeón de Manila, patrocinada por la beca del gobierno chino (China Scholarship Council).
