Abstract

From an Anthropological perspective and with an emphasis on the construction of national and transnational contemporary identities, the aim of this article is to analyze, from one side, what factors brought Kundera to go on exile to France in 1975, and from the other side, what have been the different forms in which the author has negotiated its double condition of exile regarding his society of departure and the society of destiny and how according to a specific national identity construction, so many times,  those have been misunderstood by the Czech society.
