Abstract

The main objective of this article is to consider the situation of the Russian Orthodox Church at the end of the 19th century as well as the first two decades of the 20th century and to present a general relation between Russian Empire and the Russian Church in the 18th century. The introduction of Lev Nilolaevicz Tolstoy attitude towards Russian Orthodox Church and Dukhobors is also presented.
