Abstract

The objective of the present article is to reflect upon the dialectics arising between language and scientific knowledge in the 19th and 20th centuries. The type of analysis carried out in the logic of Earth Sciences shows that reduced linguistic and mental schemes, together with stereotypes, are insufficient to express the complicated relationships and connections that exist in the biosphere. As V. Vernadsky (1863-1945) points out, new ideas and concepts always require a new verbal expression that promotes the natural evolution of knowledge, so that a link between science and humanity is established.
