Abstract

This paper discusses the importance it had the "medicine positive" for the prevention and the maintenance of good physical condition of people through the exercise gymnastics, the palaestra and rnassage oil. These techniques were routine medical physiotherapy for recovery physics of athletes and gladiators. Also comment a important epigraphical document: a constitution of the Emperor Vespasian, which protects the "medical rnassage" of the doctors of Pergamum, to dignify the profession in an environment of low social stew, and to ensure their personal safety and their legal rights.
