Abstract

This article studies the different allegorical readings than latin medieval exegesis made about three episodes of the New Testament, all with a common de nominator and a frequently united interpretation. it deals with the three dead persons revived by Christ according to the Evangel: Jairu' s daugther, the son of the widow from Nain and Lazarus. The interpretation of these three dead persons as allegory of human sins reveals a considerable richness in stating criteria for the clasification of sins with consequences in penitence conception, medieval psycology and canon law.
