Abstract

This article makes reference to an important Roman settlement placed in the rich lowland area of Vélez Blanco (Almería, Spain), in the South-East of the lberian Península. lts relevance is due to its wide chronology, which is extended from the Republic to the sixth century A.D, the great extension that its materials ocupy, and the construction remains and the sited decorative elements. lts birth and subsistence throughout time can be understood because ofthe agricultura! richness of its lands and also its excellent position in relation to the communications between the South and the Levant of the Península, since the Augusta Via is placed very close to this site.
