Abstract

The cult to Hellenistic queens is bound to the very origin of ruler cult, that rested, at the beginning, on Greek traditions of divinization of mortals. Thus the dynastic cult -including both women and men-, although not developped in Macedonia, rested on the heroic nature of the Macedonian monarchy, and, in spite of late different local evolutions with decisive influences from the new-conquered regions, the original idea was essentially Greek.
