Abstract

Lines 1-30 of Ars Amatoria are studied in this paper with the aim of proving that every single element of this corpus has been oriented to the building of the speaker's identity as a competent individual who has what is need to produce an elegiac distich didactic poem on the art of love. In order to do so, such variables as polysemy analysis of the tenn ars, auto-intertextuality and semiotic-discursive charasteristics of the didactic genre are used here.
