Abstract

In bis tragedy Oedipus Coloneus Sophocles describes the last days of Oedipus' life. The old hero moves to bis death. lt occurs in Colonus, a demos from Athens. This place had been designed by the gods like a holy territory and here is located the Eumenides' grove, a real ripsvor; (bis grave) for the wandering Oedipus. And it is also the kingdom of brightness and darkness. Oedipus, the blind man (the man who lived in the darkness), finally gets to the light: the white Colonus, bis divine τεμενος.
