Galeno: La Odontoestomatología. Avance y retroceso

Abstract

With the present paper we try to review, starting from Galen, the most relevant
writers who, in sorne way, have focused on Dentistry. Trough the works of Galen, we can reconstruct the History of Dentistry, its advances and its backwardness. We pay special attention, trough the analysis ofthe specific terminology, to severa! aspects related with the oral pathology, such as: saliva, periodontal disease, noma, aphtha and haemodia.
