Abstract

This article has as its axis on discussion of the historical and cultural context related to the process of invasion and colonization experienced by the ancestral cultures of Abya Yala. For this, we take as a methodological resource the theoretical-bibliographic research, where aspects of the formation of the original subject related to the social hierarchies, organization of societies, rituals and traditions may be found. Therefore, we can see that, before the beginning of the colonization of Abya Yala, there were peoples, societies, and social and educational relationships with unique characteristics. When investigating the history of the original cultures, we verify other meanings for education, we can weave reflections and think about an education for diversity that leads to the overcoming and emancipation of the oppression projected by the modern colonial system.
