Two simple spectrophotometric methods for the determination of cytarabine and its injection formulation
Keywords:
Cytarabine, Ultraviolet spectrophotometry, Anti cancer agentAbstract
Two rapid and simple ultraviolet spectrophotometric methods for the estimation of cytarabine in distilled water (ME1) andmethanol (ME2) has been developed and has been compared with the high performance liquid chromatographic method(HPLC) reported in the United States Pharmacopoeia. Analytical parameters such as stability, accuracy and precisionhave been established for both the methods and evaluated statistically to assess the applications of the two methods. Boththe methods were found to have the advantages for simplicity, stability, reproducibility and accuracy for using as analternate to the existing non-spectrophotometric methods for the routine analysis of the drug in pharmaceutical formulations.Downloads
