Abstract
Fish in intensive culture are affected both by the characteristics of aquatic environment itself and by the stress of hatchery conditions. This paper review the more common causes of stress in fish such as water quality (temperature, pH, dissolved oxigen, contaminants, etc.), handling, disease treatments and anaesthesia.
