Abstract
The literature about the oxidation of glucose by Trypanosoma cruzi, also namely "aerobic fermentation", is reviewed. The most important metabolic differences between mammal and T. cruzi cells are mentioned. These differences could be used for the development of new trypanocidal drugs..
