Abstract
In the XVI Century, Fray Bernardino de Sahagún, in his work "Historia de las Cosas de Nueva España", wrote several chapters in different Books of this work, about the species of hallucinogen fungi. Though they are in different parts of the work, they give important first hand information about their utilization in religious rites and ceremonies by different Mexican peoples and the description of their effects.
