Abstract

The root of Salvia verbenaca L. present phenantraquinonic compounds, whose quantity and type is dependent to the ecology of soil where the plant grows. By mean s of UV-Vis., IR, H1-NMR and C13-NMR spectroscopy technics, the presence of methoxy and isopropyl groups, double bounds between carbons and aroma tic hydrogens was shown in the principal constituent (0,02% of richness).
