Abstract
An spectrophotometric study of 5-methylfurfurol tiosemicarbazone was performed. It has a maximum at 325 nm and is stable for seven days. Absorbance doesn't vary in a range of pH from 2 to 9. Lambert-Beer's law is obyed for furfurol concentrations between 1.1O-5 M and 5.1O-5 M. Molar absortivity is E325 = 28.500 M-1 L cm-1.
