Abstract
A spectrophotometric study of the reaction of 2-3 butanedione and thiosemicarbacide has been realized. Beer's law is obeyed for the range 170 y 680 μg of butadione. The extinction coefficient of diacetylmonothiosemicarbazone has been determinated. The values found are: λmax= 305 nm, ε = 8950 Ml-1 cm-1 to pH = 2 and λmax= 350 nm, ε = 6800 Ml-1 cm-1 to pH = 12. The posibility of determination of 2-3 butanedione by this method has been confirmed.
