Abstract
Twenty eight strains of pigmented halophilic cocci, isolated from solarsalt ponds located near Alicante, were studied. The physiological behaviour, the origin, and the culture characteristlcs are described. The results are considerably coincidents with a previous paper from Kocur on 25 collection strains. This coincidence seems to indicate a marked homogenity inside the genus.
