Abstract

Nancy Fraser is a contemporary author who has assessed critically the state of feminism in the so called “Post-socialist era”. In addition, she has highlighted both the losses and gains of the alliance of feminists with the “cultural turn”. Her tridimensional theory of justice is a key reference to address, within the tradition of the critical thought, the debate on social justice in connection with the needs for redistribution, recognition and participation that take place in contemporary societies and the globalized world. This article presents a critical reflection on Fraser’s approach to justice and its implications for gender as a category of social and political analysis.
