The Situationist Movement stands as a benchmark for resistance action to the practices and models of behavior in 20th century capitalism, mainly in its increasing aggressiveness. Its links to French May, its political-social struggle and its particular interest in urban planning creates a solid axis for thinking. The cultural manifestations of the project, and even the literary ones, connect to the theoretical development of the bases. Nevertheless, the review of the specific cases still deserves more attention, both in its temporal context and in later works.
This paper proposes a current reading of some principles of the Movement based on Karmelo C. Iribarren’s poetry. Although an approach to his works ensures urban treatment, it can also allow an update of certain factors next to a Situationist bases, which will be completed in the 21st century perspective.
