The journal is open to studies addressing any national literature, literary genre, or historical period, always under a theoretical approach that fosters innovation and intellectual debate. Theory Now distinguishes itself by its commitment to rigorous thinking while providing a forum for cutting-edge thought, questioning and reconsidering traditional concepts and practices in literary and cultural criticism.

 2. Publication Frequency

Theory Now is a semi-annual journal, meaning it publishes two issues per year, in January and July.

However, the submission of a manuscript does not guarantee its publication, as all submissions undergo a rigorous evaluation process to ensure the scientific quality and thematic relevance of the accepted works.

 3. Journal Section Policy

Originality Requirement: The journal is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and originality in the works it publishes. Therefore, only original and unpublished works will be accepted. All manuscripts must be submitted through the online management system (OJS), strictly adhering to the guidelines for authors. These guidelines can be found in the "Submissions" section under "Author Guidelines."

Additionally, as a general policy, articles from the same author will not be published in consecutive issues of the journal unless exceptional circumstances justify such a decision.

 7. Peer Review Process

Theory Now follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the impartiality and confidentiality of each manuscript. All articles received will be sent to at least two ad hoc scientific reviewers. These reviewers are responsible for assessing the originality, novelty, relevance, and methodological quality of the manuscripts. The evaluation reports will be forwarded to the Editorial Board of the journal via a specific form. At least 50% of the reviewers will be external to the editorial team and the publishing entity.

 8. Editorial Process

  • Acknowledgment of Receipt: Upon receipt of the manuscripts, an acknowledgment email will be sent to the author.

  • Initial Review: The manuscript will undergo an initial review by a member of the Editorial Board, who will verify compliance with the journal's submission guidelines, both in electronic and print formats.

  • Peer Review: If the manuscript meets the minimum requirements for format and originality, it will be sent to external scientific reviewers for assessment. These reviewers must submit their report within three weeks.

  • Editorial Decision: Once all evaluation reports have been received, the Editorial Board will analyze the results and decide which manuscripts are accepted for publication and in which section they will be included.

  • Communication of Results: The evaluation results will be communicated to the authors promptly, along with any modifications suggested by the reviewers for publication.

  • Proofreading: The secretary of the Editorial Board will send a proof of the article in PDF format to the authors whose work has been accepted. Authors must return the proof with the corresponding corrections (if any).

  • Final Publication: After the authors have corrected and returned the proof, the work will be published on the journal's website in the next issue. Authors will receive automatic notifications about the status of their manuscript throughout the editorial process.

 9. Plagiarism Policy

To ensure the originality of the published works, Theory Now uses plagiarism detection software to analyze all submitted articles before initiating the peer review process.

Submitted articles must be original and unpublished. If plagiarism is detected, the article will be immediately excluded from the editorial process. The journal uses Turnitin for similarity analysis in submitted texts.

All received works will undergo an initial review by the Editorial Team, which will evaluate their relevance to the journal’s editorial focus, compliance with submission guidelines, and absence of plagiarism (verified through Turnitin). Any matches detected by the software will be reviewed by the Editorial Team and/or the responsible Editor for the issue to determine if they are relevant or if they result from an incorrect detection due to the software's operation (e.g., common words or topics).

If more than 20% of the article matches other works, the Editorial Team will reject the manuscript but offer the authors the opportunity to eliminate the detected issues and resubmit the article. All submitted texts must adhere to ethical research procedures and explicitly state how these procedures have been respected.
