Abstract

The present essay analyzes the Spanish and Andalusian cultural influence in the conformation of the NovoHispanic Baroque. In order to do that, it will be examined the case of Puebla de los Ángeles, one of the cities where a major part of the migrants from Andalusia travelling to Mexico settled. This text trace the presence of this community from its intervention in the field of architecture, paying attention to aspects related to ceramics, plasterwork or tile industry.

José Antonio Terán Bonilla, Dirección de Estudios Históricos Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia – México D.F., México.

Doctor en Arquitectura por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, ha trabajado durante décadas como docente, arquitecto y restaurador. Es autor de numerosas publicaciones sobre arquitectura, centros históricos, patrimonio cultural y restauración de monumentos. Ha recibido varias distinciones y premios.
