Abstract

The introduction of the Islamic Revival in Brazilian architecture was related to the economic development, the growth of large cities and the interest to make eliminate any evocation of the colonial past. By assimilation of European art, it was first linked to the interior decoration, from the First Republic became part of the new urban scenery of Rio de Janeiro.
