Abstract

Public transportation in Havana nineteenth century had its origins during the first four decades, when calesas, quitrines and buses allowed the link between foundational areas of intramural and new developments beyond the walls. However, it would be the urban rail mode greater impact on mobility, constituted from the second half of the century as a regularized and enlarged service of public transport.

Michael González Sánchez, Dirección de Patrimonio Cultural de La Habana Oficina del Historiador .

Ha cursado el Máster en Historia Contempo- ránea (2004) y en gestión del Patrimonio Cultural (2010). Es profesor asistente del Colegio Universitario San Gerónimo de La Habana y trabaja en la Dirección de Patrimonio Cultural de la oficina del Historiador de la Habana.
