Abstract

The architect José Joaquín González Edo provided a comprehensive vision of urban heritage. This research rescues the reflections contained in his works and writings, largely kept in the Historical Archive of the Province of Malaga. The work and thinking of González Edo are a positive example for many cities facing rapid growth and transformation and where conservation of urban heritage is relegated.

Daniel Barrera Fernández, Universidad de Guanajuato división de Arquitectura, Arte y diseño Departamento de arquitectura Guanajuato.

Daniel barrera Fernández es doctor en Arquitectura por la Universidad de Málaga. Desempeña su labor como profesor e investigador en el Departamento de arquitectura de la Universidad de Guanajuato. Sus investigaciones versan sobre gestión del patrimonio urbano, planeamiento urbano en ciudades históricas, patrimonio industrial, patrimonio y participación social, eventos y marketing urbano, turismo urbano y cultural y tematización.
