Abstract

The Almohad Caliphate was one of the most productive period of the medieval architecture. This paper will approach to the Almohad architectural legacy in Portugal. The main aim of this study is to present this heritage, its creation process and its current condition, through some singular examples as the remains of the mosque of Mértola, the defensive system of Silves and the castle of Valongo.

Investigadora posdoctoral en el Instituto de Estudos Medievais de la Universidad Nova de Lisboa. Doctora en Historia del arte por la Universidad de Granada (2013).
