Abstract
This article's Figures and Symbols try to underline which maybe is the most outstanding element on Nuˀayma's Literary Duty: Old and New Testament's Figurative and Symbolic Language. Por that, I've chosen the poem Ibtihālāt («Supplications») and I've picked out six figures: «deaf», «blind», «road», «waves», «wilderness», «thirst» and six symbols: «cloud», «water», «swotd», «dawn», «night» and «leprous», searchin' for precedents where I hope this tenns' use comes from.
It's been added, as appendix, the poem in Arabic Language, together with its translation.
