Morocco, Eastern Geographers, Islam beginningsAbstract
The sources for the study of Morocco History in the Islamic period are very rare as in Moroccan Arabic Literature in the first Islamic period, that is to say in the first three centuries of Islam. Not until the XI century is there mention of the West Magrib in the work of the geographer al-Bakri. A century later news from another geographer, al- Idrisi, of the same region appears. These geographers were contemporaries of the events, and this offer us important information. Yet, one drawback is that they, with the exception of Ibn Hawqal, did not personally know the countries described. We intend in the present work to present these geos text about a part of Moroccan History, not well known as complements to classic writers, such as Ibn Abi Zar` and Ibn Jaldun.Downloads
