Keywords:
Emirate of Trārza, History of Mauritania, Manuscripts of MauritaniaAbstract
The emirates of Trārza, Brākna, drār and Idaw‘īš coexisted for several centuries in the territory of what is today Mauritania. The historical studies carried out in the last decades have brought to light considerable data about the political, social, cultural and economic aspects of these emirates. Among the sources which have contributed to the advancement of these investigations, it is worth pointing out the manuscripts belonging to Mauritanian scholars educated in the traditional universities called maḥaḍras. This study focuses on one of these manuscripts, offering the Arabic edition and Spanish translation of a chronicle which contains the list of all the emirs of Trārza along with the dates of their death and other data concerning the period of their emirate.
