Metric patterns and epic structures

Do the metric patterns supply indications on the composition of the epic text? Following the work of G. E. Duckworth on the song IV of the Aeneid, the study of these patterns revealsactually the attention carried by the poet to the microstructural composition rather than macrostructural thanks to the use of opposite, inverse or identical patterns, even particular as the spondaic hexameter.
